How big is God?

November 13, 2007 Tuesday John 6:1-14 After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias. And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world. Never think that what you have is too little for God to use for His glory. 120172 mileage, 49 degrees, not a cloud in the sunny sky, light wind 9:10am New Mexico landscape: Entering Arizona We are driving to the Grand Canyon today, through high desert country. It is pretty much the same mile after mile, but still to my eyes there is a beauty even in this barren deserted place. This was at a gas stop, yes I had courage to walk in. The road went on and on How about some dinosaurs? More landscape pictures Dad likes windmills We stopped at the Petrified forest center, but didn't drive out into the forest because of road work. We watched the video about how the forest came to be, just amazing. rocky land Don't know what this was, but the land was for sale. we saw signs of elk and deer This was the road on the way to the Grand Canyon, it is about 55 miles off highway 40 north. Again, the pictures of the Grand Canyon weren't able to show the immenseness of the canyon. The words came to my mind: Where were you when I created? Job 38:1-6 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; Isaiah 40:10-14 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? Our God is such an awesome God. He created it all, everything came from his mind. No wonder the Bible says our thoughts are not his thoughts, could any of us have begun to imagine anything like what we see around us each day. And then when we are privileged to see some of the more magnificent parts of the creation, yes, we are but grasshoppers. Yet God loved us so much, He sent his son to die for us and to deliver us from our sins, and then to be with us each day to help along our walk with the Lord. "How big is God, how great and wide his vast domain, to try to tell our lips can only start, he's big enough to rule this mighty universe, yet small enough to live within my heart." It is such a long way down This is the sunset We stayed at Grand Canyon, CA the Morning and the Evening of the fifty-fifth day.

New Mexico High Desert

November 12, 2007, Monday Romans 8:24-28 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 119909 mileage, 61 degrees, sunny light clouds, 9:52am Vegetation on this high desert: This is underpass art and walk way over the highway: New Mexico has a varied landscape: Again we had to take pictures of the sunset while driving. Dad had it easy today, he was driving northwest, so the sun was over his left shoulder not in his eyes. This is what greeted us at the USA Rv Park, Gallup, New Mexico. The Morning and Evening of the fifty-fourth day.
